Video: Arthur Lok Jack online Masters for SME owners launched

The University of the West Indies (UWI) Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business, through its continued collaboration with Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited, launched its online Master of SME Management programme to Republic Bank SME clients at the bank’s Head Office yesterday.

Executive Director and Professor of Strategy at the University Dr Miguel Carrillo said the programme seeks to target founders and next generation owners of small and medium enterprises (SME) and will run for 20 months.

He added that the programme is designed with 13 carefully crafted courses (online) and 3 workshops (face-to-face) that will support the overall goals of the programme. The cost of the programme is US$8,000 ($1.6 million).

The main objective of the programme is to empower existing and future small and medium business entrepreneurs to excel in today’s highly competitive, globalised environment.

The bank’s collaboration with the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business commenced in 2010 with the hosting of the annual Commercial Customer Business Programme designed to prepare participants for successful planning, organising, and operating small to medium sized businesses in various sectors within the economy.

Meanwhile, a commemorative plaque was presented to Managing Director, Republic Bank (Guyana) Limited John Alves by Carrillo in recognition of the bank’s involvement in the development of the SME sector in Guyana through the provision of financing options and a strong focus on strengthening the skills and competencies of business owners.
