Bail for Grove man who assaulted another over flash drive

Magistrate Leslie Sobers yesterday granted $75, 000 bail to a Grove man accused of assaulting another man whom he accused of stealing his flash drive.
The Providence Magis-trate’s Court heard that on March 15, at Lot 123 Post Office Road, Grove, Clyde Bennett, 45, unlawfully assaulted Gerald Duke so as to cause him actual bodily harm.

The court heard that on the said date Bennett inquired from Luke the whereabouts of his flash drive as Luke had been at his home the day before and subsequently the device could not be found.

Prosecutor Shellon Daniels added that a scuffle ensued between the two men and as such a report was made to police which led to Bennett’s arrest.
The prosecution did not object to bail.

Bennett was ordered to appear in court on June 20 for trial.
