Police Corporal Denise Booker told the court that Koosman was arrested on March 19. She related that while he was in police custody he indicated that he entered Guyana with a small boat. He further told the officers that he had came to visit his girlfriend.

Koosman’s attorney Paul Fung-a-Fat said that his client is very honest and asked the magistrate not to jail him.
Koosman is currently awaiting deportation.
