Hindus celebrating Holika Dahaan tonight

The Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha says Holika Dahaan will take place tonight countrywide.  This is a function to burn the pyre built subsequent to the planting of the castor oil tree on Basant Panchmi.

The Sabha meets at the Shri Krishna Mandir in Campbellville at 7 o’clock tonight, which is the eve of Holi. After the performance of puja and havan, devotees will depart in a procession singing chowtaal to the Camptown ground in Campbellville for the burning of Holika at 8 pm, the Dharmic Sabha said in a press release.

The annual Holi satsangh will be held on Phagwah Day, at 8 am at the Dharmic Rama Krishna Mandir, Barr Street, Kitty.

Holi Utsav will be held at the Everest Cricket Ground from 3 pm, the release added.
