A 14-year-old girl has disappeared from her home in Supenaam, Essequibo and her relatives are pleading for her safe return.
Missing is Maria Richards, a student of the Aurora Secondary School.
Her father, Leon Richards, who travelled to the city yesterday
to get help in finding her, told Stabroek News that she left home around 8 pm on Monday. He said that she did not tell anyone where she was going. “She jus lef,” he said, while adding that the teen had never behaved this way before.
He said had that the police were notified of her disappearance but they seem to be dragging their feet on the case.
