Former policeman, Nandram Persaud, who was shot at a barber shop in Kitty on Thursday is recovering, though he remains hospitalised in the Intensive Care Unit at the Georgetown Hospital.
Persaud sustained about seven gunshot wounds about his body after gunmen went into the barber shop and opened fire at him.
Stabroek News understands that Persaud is improving and is now able to speak.
Barber Kimtia Gobin who had been cutting Persaud’s hair at the time of the incident, suffered a gunshot wound to his right thigh. He was treated at the hospital and released.
Persaud was the target in the attack but investigators are still trying to find a motive for the shooting.
