Suspect in murder of northwest miner kills self

The suspect in the murder of Randy Rafael of Kamwatta Village, North West District (NWD) who was found with a gunshot wound to the head last Saturday, committed suicide later the same day, according to Crime Chief Seelall Persaud.

Meanwhile Persaud said that local ranks are still to make contact with Venezuelan authorities to determine exactly where the murder of Titus Daniels of Yarakita, NWD took place.

Daniels was stabbed to death last Saturday and according to the police the killing occurred at the border village of “Mundo” in Venezuela. Police also reported that the attacker who is Guyanese was arrested by other Guyanese miner who brought him along with Daniels’ remains back to Guyana. He remains in police custody awaiting charges.
