Elizabeth Moonsammy, Secretary of the Bartica Regatta Committee, said that the prizes surpassed previous years and that this was due to the substantial package of assistance from the main sponsors, Banks DIH, Ansa McAl, Digicel, GT&T, Macorp, Courts and 5 Star Minerals.

The queen received $500,000, a trophy donated by Trophy Stall, a day trip to Kaieteur Falls, a weekend for two at Lake Mainstay, a pair of gold earrings from King’s Jewellery World, a Sacha Cosmetics Kit, a Thierry Mugler perfume set and an outfit designed by Sonia Noel.

Others present at the ceremony were DC Promotions’ Public Relations Officer Priscilla Jagnandan, and the trainers John Quelch and Meleesa Payne.

Prizes were also given for Ms Personality, Ms Body Beautiful, Ms Congeniality and Ms. Stick-to-itiveness.
