Messages of condolence sent to USA and China

President Donald Ramotar has sent messages of condolence to the presidents of the United States and China following tragedies in their countries.

In his message to President Barack Obama, President Ramotar expressed condolences on the loss of lives from the bombing at the Boston Marathon. He said that the government of Guyana strongly condemns the attack on the citizens of the USA and reiterated its support for the fight against terrorism.

In the message to President Xi Jinping, Ramotar extended sympathy to the government and people of the People’s Republic of China on the tragic loss of lives and damage sustained as a result of the devastating earthquake which struck Sichuan Province. He expressed confidence that with the courage and the indomitable spirit of the Chinese people that the country will be able to overcome the effects of the tragedy.
