Brothers Village boy, Dryshore man die in separate accidents

At about 2200h. last night, Mohamed Khalid, 22 years of Dryshore, Essequibo Coast, was riding a motor cycle along the roadway at Fairfield, Essequibo Coast, with pillion rider Garbadan Whadan, 19 years, of Aurora, Essequibo Coast, when they collided with a dog that ran across the road.

As a result, police say, both men fell off the motor cycle and suffered injuries. Whadan was transferred to the GPHC where he succumbed during today. Investigations are in progress.

At about 1415h. today, Dinesh Chand, 8 years, of Brothers Village, Corentyne, was struck down by a motor car while crossing the public road at Tain, Corentyne. He was pronounced DOA at the New Amsterdam Hospital.

The driver of the motor car is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
