City resident being sought in connection with T&T cocaine find

CANU head James Singh has confirmed that law enforcement officials here are on the hunt for a city resident who was the person that shipped a consignment of pepper which was intercepted in Trinidad and Tobago on Friday morning.

An investigation, he said, is also underway to ascertain why the cocaine-laden crates of pepper were not picked up at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport before being placed on board a Caribbean Airlines jet bound for Miami, Florida with a scheduled stop in Trinidad.

It is unclear what the weight of the cocaine was, but it was  found during routine checks of cargo after it had been placed on Flight BW480, a Boeing 737.
