At about 1530h yesterday, police say a wooden balahoo with ten men aboard capsized off the Riverstown Foreshore, Essequibo Coast, due to the rough tide.
A statement from the police today said that another vessel that was in the vicinity went to their assistance. However, Fred Crème, 24 years of Onderneeming, Essequibo Coast, is unaccounted for and is feared drowned.
A search is in progress to locate him, the police said.
