Guyanese woman charged with entering Barbados illegally

(Barbados Nation) Police have arrested and charged Tessa Lovell, 50, of Essequibo Coast, Guyana, for entering Barbados without the permission of the Minister with responsibility for Immigration.

Last Sunday a warrant was executed at the residence of Immigration Officer Ryan Jordan of Bagatelle Park, St Thomas, where the woman was found residing.

Jordan was arrested and charged this week in connection with the on-going investigations into the cases of Human Trafficking in April.

Police in a release today stated that further investigations revealed that Lovell was deported from Barbados in January 2000 under the name Tessa King, and never received permission to re-enter the island.

She arrived at the airport under the name Lovell and was granted a three-month stay as a visitor.

Lovell is expected to appear at Magistrate Court today.
