The charge read that between January 6 and 7 at Williamsburg, Corentyne Berbice, the trio murdered Ramcharran, 61, of Bloomfield Village, Corentyne.

They were not required to plead and were remanded to the New Amsterdam prison. The case was transferred to the Albion Magistrate’s Court for July 4.

Stabroek News understands that the accused were apprehended by lawmen attached to the Rose Hall Town outpost.

While investigating a robbery, an investigator reportedly bluffed Hintzen about the murder and he allegedly named four others. Investigators are now searching for two other suspects in connection with the murder.

Ramcharran had been found on the porch of the Iskcon Sri Sri Radha Gokula Chandra Mandir at Block 6 Williamsburg with his hands and feet bound and a cloth tied tightly around his neck around 3 am on January 7.

Ramcharran was found by a member of the temple, who had arrived to worship. According to the member, he saw the man tied up and motionless and “got scared”.

A bell, a pair of pure gold murti slippers and a tape recorder were missing and the entire building was ransacked.

The bandits had reportedly cut open a grill on a window to gain entry to the building
