Police yesterday midday found over two kilogrammes of cocaine concealed in a suitcase at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri and a Canada-based Guyanese man has been detained.
According to a press release issued last evening, police said that around 1240 hours, police ranks conducted a search on baggage belonging to the man and found a total of two kilogrammes, 615 grammes of cocaine concealed in his suitcase. The release added that the man would be charged shortly.
A source told this newspaper that the 41-year-old man was scheduled to leave Guyana on a BW 606 flight bound for Canada. He had been staying at city address.
