A five-year-old girl, who was reportedly left unattended yesterday, was rescued from the burning bottom flat of their Lot 93 Block ‘F’ North Sophia home by her grandmother. A neighbour said that she heard the child screaming and it was then her grandmother asked her what had happened, and she yelled out that there was a fire. The neighbour said that she immediately called the fire brigade.
She added that by the time they arrived however, the fire had already been put out by villagers in the area. The immediate cause of the fire is unknown. Her grandmother was too distraught to speak at the time.
