Campbellville man shot thrice in Alberttown

A campbellville resident was shot and left for dead when gunmen opened fire on him at Cummings Street, Alberttown early this morning.

Crime Chief Seelall Persaud identified the man as Leslie Wood of Seaforth Street and said that he was currently a patient at the Georgetown Hospital. He said that the man sustained three gunshot wounds and that he did not have details about what may have transpired.

Wood who is still receiving treatment in the emergency room of the Georgetown Hospital according to hospital sources is in a stable condition.

A resident told this newspaper that gunshots rang out sometime around 4 am and police were immediately contacted. The resident said that when a patrol unit arrived ranks found the man lying on the roadway bleeding. The resident said that the wounded man was picked up and placed in the vehicle which sped off.
