The two young teenagers who were among the five females who were rescued by the Guyana Women Miners Organisation (GWMO) earlier this year from the Puruni backdam are being given a second chance by the organization with the assistance of others to further their schooling.
President of the organisation Simona Broomes and Vice-President Urica Primus have agreed to take temporary custody of the children, aged 14 and 15, respectively, and are expected to enrol them in summer programmes shortly with the hope of having them become part of the normal school system.
