Kamarang miner died of ruptured spleen

Refford Williams, who was beaten to death with a piece of metal at 10 Miles, Port Kaituma, North West District (NWD) on Thursday, died as a result of a ruptured spleen his post-mortem examination said.

The PME, which was done yesterday, revealed that Williams’ spleen was ruptured as a result of blunt trauma.

Williams, 26, of Kamarang was working in a mining pit when he got involved in an argument with another man who beat him with a piece of metal. As a result of his injuries, he died on arrival at the Port Kaituma Hospital.

The suspect has been detained by police and is expected to be charged soon.
