Seventy-two murders at end of July, 61 road deaths

The police today said that up to the end of July this year, there had been 72 murders and 61 deaths on the roads.

Murders were down by three compared to last year’s figures while the number of road deaths was up by 10. Twenty-one pedestrians have died on the roads so far.

An overall increase of 5% in serious crimes has been recorded at the end of July 2013 in comparison to the same period last year, the police said.
