was arrested after a post-mortem determined that Hussain’s death was not a suicide, has given a statement to investigators.

He said that as a result, the police would be sending a file to the Chambers of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice on how to proceed.

The post-mortem examination revealed that Hussain, 33, of Lot 13 Goed Bananen Land, East Canje Berbice, died as a result of ligature strangulation.

Police had said that after “diligent investigations,” the prime suspect was taken into custody.

This person and Hussain were the only ones at the logging camp when Hussain’s body was discovered.

Stabroek News was told that Hussain sustained several injuries about his body, including a stab wound and a wound to his head.
