Suspect still on the run after fatal Albouystown stabbing

It has been a week since Albouystown resident Tolasicy Marshall was stabbed to death by a man who he claimed owed him money and police are yet to find the perpetrator.

Contacted last evening, Marshall’s twin brother Triskie told Stabroek News 20130528marshallthat he has heard nothing about the location or capture of the suspect, identified only as “Omar.” He questioned why the police are yet to circulate a photograph of the suspect, who he said had been previously placed before the court.

Despite the length of time that has passed, he expressed confidence that the suspect will be caught.

Police had been looking for a taxi driver who took “Omar” from the scene. It is unclear if he had been located.

Reports are that the two men had a dispute over a sum of money that had been handed over to “Omar” to have two pieces of gold jewellery made.

The gold chain and band were never delivered.

During a conversation between the two it was agreed that $200, 000 would be returned to Marshall.

However before the date for the return, Marshall spotted the man wearing a gold chain around his neck and took it.

He also told the suspect to hand over the remaining $150, 000.

Last Tuesday, as Marshall was walking along School Street, Albouystown, where the suspect lived, he was attacked.

Afterward, “Omar” hid in a nearby house until a taxi arrived and took him away.
