Teen in Garden of Eden accident gets hospital release

Harinand Boodram, 18, who was hospitalised following an accident at Garden of Eden on Monday, has regained consciousness.

According to his mother Diana Boodram, Harinand regained consciousness seven hours after the accident and was yesterday released from hospital.

The teen, of Lot 336 Sachi Bazaar, Prashad Nagar, was, according to eyewitnesses, driving a white pick-up truck occupied by his two other siblings, ages 17 and 13, when the accident occurred.

Witnesses said that the pick-up truck was racing along the Garden of Eden public road with another white car when Boodram lost control of the vehicle and ran into a trench.

Eyewitnesses stated that the occupants of the motor vehicle had been trapped in the vehicle for approximately an hour before they were taken out and then transported by a family member to a private hospital in Georgetown.
