Murdered rice miller’s failure to use licensed gun raises suspicion

As part of the investigation into the murder of Corentyne rice miller Lallapersaud Juggerdeo, police have taken his weapon for ballistic tests.

Juggerdeo, 74, of Lot 79 No. 0 Village, Corentyne, Berbice, was fatally shot on Tuesday evening while running off armed invaders from his home. Juggerdeo, who was pelting the men as they fled, was shot as they retreated from his property.

An autopsy performed yesterday by pathologist Dr. Vivekanand Brijmohan confirmed that he died from shock and haemorrhage
