Two held over Grove murder

Two men have been arrested and are currently assisting with investigations into the murder of 53-year-old Seepaul Beharry, sources say. Persons close to the investigations yesterday said that the two men arrested were Beharry’s friends but a motive for his murder has not yet been established.

Beharry’s body was found around 6 am on Tuesday lying face down on a bench at a shop located at Market Street, Grove, East Bank Demerara. There were at least two visible stab wounds to his abdomen and also his neck appeared to have been slashed according to his brother.

When Stabroek News spoke to the deceased’s brother, he had said that he had no idea who would have wanted to take his brother’s life and added that he was not aware of enemies his brother might have had.

A post-mortem examination stated that Beharry died as a result of multiple incised wounds.
