Canada-based writer donates book to UG Library

The University of Guyana Library was presented with a copy of the recently published book, A Collection of Indian-Guyanese Words and Phrases and Meanings, by the author, Canada-based writer, Harry Hergash, founding member and President of the Ontario Chapter of the UG Guild of Graduates.

A release from UG said that the publication of the book coincided with the 175th anniversary of the Arrival of Indians in Guyana and according to the author, the book records words and phrases used by indentured immigrants and their descendants.  The handing over ceremony took place last week, in the office of Vice-Chancellor, Professor Jacob Opadeyi, who accepted the book on behalf of the university.
