Prosecutor Bharrat Mangru informed the court that Khan and Allicock had been friends since they were in school.

He said that on the day the crime was committed, there was an argument between the two friends which led to a scuffle. It was during the scuffle, Mangru said, that Khan picked up a rock and pelted Allicock. The missile hot him in his back.

Mangru said Allicock ran away, but was later discovered motionless.

A post-mortem examination conducted, showed that Allicock died as a result of a ruptured spleen and blunt trauma to the back.

Bail was denied and the matter was transferred to the Mabaruma Magistrate Court for November 19.
