Family details ambush at Ogle on arrival from airport

In less than a week, a second East Coast family has come forward to detail their terror at being ambushed at gunpoint after returning home from the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri.

On Friday last, Katherine Lord and her brother Joseph Ishmael were followed and held up at their Ogle residence. The incident occurred around 11:15 pm at Lot 49 Airview Road Area H, Ogle.

Ishmael told this publication that he had just arrived home from the airport, where he had gone to pick up his sister, Lord, who had arrived from London.

He said he was offloading the vehicle when a silver grey car drove past and stopped at the end of the road.

Two men exited the car, walked back to them and held both of them at gunpoint.

“One of the gunmen told me to take my bag off my neck and I did,” Lord said.

“He started to search my body for jewellery. He took my British passport, airline ticket, three cellphones, one laptop, jewellery and £1,900 from me.”

Ishmael said one gunman told him to “’give me everything you have’. I took out the money that was in my pocket ($12,000) and give it to him.
