Battling women ordered to pay court costs

Two women arraigned on charges of assaulting each other were each ordered to pay court costs on Tuesday after they opted not to proceed with their complaints.

Shannon Dover, 39, of 27 Alexander Street, Kitty and Denver Terrence, 28, of HH Freeman Street, La Penitence, appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court charged with assault.

According to Prosecutor Vishnu Hunt, it is alleged that on November 1, 2013, on Hinck Street, Dover assaulted Terrence. Hunt said on the same day, Terrence allegedly wounded Dover, who sustained minor swelling and lacerations and required three stitches for her injuries.

Dover and Terrence both pleaded not guilty to the charges and were each initially placed on $100,000 bail and ordered to return to court on November 15th.

However, after the decision the women briefly conferred before deciding on not proceeding with the matters against each other. As a result, they were instead charged $5,000 each for court charges.
