his reputed wife and three of her children was destroyed around 11:30 pm on October 23.

At the time of the suspected arson, the house was unoccupied. She made a report to the Blairmont Police Station and the officers took statements from her and promised to investigate. But so far they have not visited the scene. According to Tanman, persons connected with the victim, Shelton ‘Buju’ Joseph, 19 of Hosanna Street, Rosignol, WBB, had threatened to burn three houses and have reportedly said they have “two more to burn.”

She lamented that she is a poor woman and pleaded with them not to harm her family because they are not responsible for what her son allegedly did. Besides, she said, he is already facing a charge for the crime.

He was arrested on October 10 and charged for the offence three days later. The case was adjourned to November 11. Daljit reportedly struck Joseph to his head on September 27. He succumbed in the Intensive Care Unit of the Georgetown Public Hospital on October 6.
