Jamaican businessman succumbs after shooting

Patrick Forbes, the Jamaican businessman shot multiple times while standing with a group of friends at Orange Walk, Bourda on Wednesday morning, died while receiving treatment on Thursday.

According to reports, Forbes, 36, of Lance Gibbs Street, Queenstown, succumbed to his injuries on Thursday afternoon at a private city hospital.

In a release, police had said that Forbes was among a group of persons on Orange Walk, Bourda when shots were discharged in their direction. He was hit to his abdomen and right thigh.

Forbes is believed to have been targetted by the shooter. Stabroek News understands that Forbes was shot eight times several years ago while in Jamaica.
