At about 2200h. last night, police say Leon Madramootoo, 21 years, of Kingelly Village, WCB, was driving an ATV, accompanied by another man, along a trail at Warudi Backdam, Cuyuni River, when they were confronted by three men.
Madramootoo accelerated the vehicle in an effort to escape, but the vehicle overturned.
The men discharged rounds at Madramootoo and the other man, hitting Madramootoo to his right foot.
The perpetrators then took away the ATV and escaped.
Investigations are in progress.
