Venezuelan airline for inaugural flight tomorrow

Venezuela’s CONVIASA Airline will be operating a non-commercial inaugural flight into the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri tomorrow, to signal the beginning of their once weekly commercial flight on the Puerto Ordaz/Georgetown route.

A release today from the Ministry of Public Works says this enterprise stems from the Fifth Meeting of the Guyana-Venezuela High Level Bilateral Commission which was held in Guyana on August 30, 2013 where the Venezuelan Government agreed that the CONVIASA would commence two weekly flights by mid-November with a connection between Puerto Ordaz and Caracas.

This one-off flight is scheduled to leave the Manuel Carlos Piar Airport, Puerto Ordaz at 10:00 am and will be transporting Venezuelan government officials and staff of CONVIASA, Venezuelan Civil Aviation Authority officers, members of the Venezuelan Media and other specials guests, the release said.

A welcome ceremony is being organized, the release said.
