Lindener first Courts’ millionaire

A Lindener became a millionaire yesterday after he participated in the “Become a millionaire only at Courts” promotion.

Cliff Wilson, who shopped at the Courts branch in Linden, walked away with one million dollars, while 11 other customers won consolation prizes.

To reward their customers for their patronage, Courts will make one lucky shopper a millionaire every week

until the end of the year. The company will also be giving away what it calls “Fabulous Courts prizes” weekly.

The twelve winners from branches around the country vied at the Courts Guyana Main Street store for the $1M and other prizes by popping balloons and retaining the stubs, rejecting the offer of $100,000 for their stub from the hostess Nuriyyih Gerard. Deodatt Seodatt, who popped the first balloon, received a 7 cubic ft Frigidaire refrigerator. Jerika Chow also won the same prize.

Abdul Tahir won a 7-piece Island home collection suite. Stephen Persaud got a two-piece Island set collection suite, while Carroll Gilgeous received a two-piece sectional suite.

Cliff Henry and Mohan Deonarine each won a 32 inch HD TCL television set. Henry also received a sound bar in addition to the TV set.

George Garnett and Mohendra Singh got a Whirlpool gas stove each, while Gordon Trim received a Whirlpool washer, and Mrs Tambarin, representing her husband John, won an Apple Mini IPad.

The promotion began on November 7 and will end on December 28. To have a chance of winning, customers must make a purchase of $5000 or more.
