The Dharm Shala is making its annual Christmas appeal for financial assistance in order to continue its humanitarian service.
In a recent release it said the institution depended exclusively on donations from the public and business entities for its funding, and that this money was needed not just for the day-to-day living expenses of those who find shelter there, but also for the maintenance of its nine buildings as well as water and electricity rates. The latter, the statement said, “have bitten off a great portion of the Dharm Shala’s reserve funds painstakingly accumulated over the years.”
