At about 2200h last night, police say that Francis Mc Pherson, 38 years, of Lime Street, Georgetown, and Eon Bourne, 30 years, of Port Kaituma, NWD, were travelling on an ATV along the trail at Hymakuru Backdam, Port Kaituma, when they were held up by two men armed with handguns.
During the armed robbery, police say that Bourne was shot and injured to his right thigh by the perpetrators who took away a quantity of gold and escaped.
Investigations are in progress.
