The sewing machine, according to the President of the Lions Club of Ruimveldt, Mickey Anderson, who handed it over to UEH administrator Norma Hamilton, was won at a raffle held by the Holy Spirit RC Church this year. Anderson told Stabroek News, that she immediately thought of UEH and its call for a sewing machine.

This donation follows that of the Harmony Lodge (Scottish Masonic). The Harmony Lodge presented UEH with a stand up freezer earlier this month.

UEH through Hamilton expressed deep appreciation for the thoughtful donation by the Lions Club and looks forward for more support from the public.

UEH located at 826-829 Jackson Street, Tucville is still seeking donations to repair damaged zinc sheets and refurbishing of the lawns and floor repairs among other things.
