(Trinidad Express) COUSINS Jerome and Dale Ramsahai suffered an agonising death.
Pathologist Dr Eslyn McDonald- Burris, who performed the examination on the remains of the men yesterday, concluded that they were burnt to death.
The wire found embedded in the charred bodies, Dr Burris determined to be pieces of the cable contained in tyres.
The forensic report said the men suffered “full body burns”.
Police said the result means the men were alive when they were locked in the truck of Jerome Ramsahai’s Nissan Tiida car, before it was set on fire.
The bodies were found in the gutted car in the Heights of Guanapo a month ago. It was only last week that police got confirmation of the identities, when the tests done on Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) samples from the cousins, and those taken from their mothers, returned a 99 per cent match.
The murdered men, whose fathers are brothers, grew up together at Seuradge Trace, Debe.
They both worked in Port of Spain and shared an apartment at Victoria Square, Port of Spain.
Jerome Ramsahai, 27, was a loans officer at Scotiabank’s headquarters in Port of Spain and Dale Ramsahai, 28, an information technology coordinator with Trinidad and Tobago Coalition of Services Industries.
Jerome’s sister, attorney Liana Ramsahai, is deputy chairman of State-owned Caribbean New Media Group (CNMG).
In July 2010, Liana Ramsahai reported to police a death threat that also mentioned Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar.
The Ramsahai families have said they did not believe the murders were politically-motivated.
Police said yesterday they had no suspects in the case.
