Residents flee after Jamaica triple murder

(Jamaica Observer) KINGSTON, Jamaica – Residents in and around Delamere Avenue off Waltham Park Road today started an exodus following a triple murder in the area on the weekend.

Four people, three men and a woman, were shot dead in separate incidents in the lower St Andrew community on Sunday.

In the triple murder, 28-year-old Alrick Gooden, otherwise called ‘Ruggu’; 22-year-old Randy Collins, who goes by the alias ‘Stacy’; and 21-year-old Shantel Campbell were shot dead in an early morning attack on Delamere Avenue.

Residents, packing up their belongings, beat a hasty retreat from the area Monday morning in fear of an escalation in violence.

“Since the incident people in the area are in fear,” said one resident.

“Even this morning we see people a move from the area as nobody knows who will be next,” said another.

Police have not established a motive behind the deadly attack.

Meanwhile in the other incident, 19-year-old Sanjay Barrett was killed in an alleged confrontation with the police.
