In T&T: Three murdered in cars

(Trinidad Express) POLICE are investigating two murders in Diego Martin last night and one in Laventille yesterday afternoon. The three were all shot while in a car.

The first to be killed was 21-year-old Brad Williams of Upper Quarry Street, Diego Martin. Police said around 9.58 pm Williams and two other men, Jamal Gabriel, 23 and Julio Cumberbatch, 20 were in a car near the corner of Quarry and Kelly Street when gunmen opened fire on the vehicle.

Williams, the front seat passenger was shot in the head and died while under going treatment at the Port of Spain General Hospital.Gabriel, the driver of the car was shot in the right shoulder and upper back while the back seat passenger Cumberbatch was shot in the lower back.

Constable Ramdass is investigating. About 30 minutes later Iodaly “Budha” Julius was shot dead at Gokool Street, Diego Martin. Julius, 28 was killed just outside his home, while seated in his vehicle.

Police believed the same killers who shot Williams returned and assassinated Julius who they say was Williams’ boss.

Officers retrieved 12 gauge casings and .38 shells at both scenes.In Laventille, 31 year old Sheldon Thompson was shot dead while sitting in front seat of his car just outside his home.

Police officers say around 5 pm residents of Snake Valley, Laventille heard gunshots when they checked moments later Thompson was found . He had gunshot wounds to head and was pronounced dead on the scene.
