Man held over murder of Guyanese in Barbados

(Barbados Nation) Police have arrested and charged two men in connection with two recent killings.

Twenty-year-old Renaco Basil Jaleel Callender and Kobia Jamal Robinson, 25, are now in police custody and expected to appear in District A Magistrates Court today.

Callender, of Lot 1, Barbarees Garden, Barbarees Hill, St Michael, has been charged with murder in relation to the death of 47-year-old Patrick Weekes, alias “Fatman” who was shot and died on the spot last Monday morning at Londy’s Bar, Wharton Gap, in the same parish.

Weekes, who resided at President Kennedy Drive, St Michael, was a former entertainer and winner of the Richard Stoute Teen Talent Competition.

Meanwhile, Robinson, of Reed Street, St Michael, also faces charges of murder in connection with the death of Guyanese Robert Rupert Jones, 54. The body of the former resident of Speightstown, St Peter was discovered just before 1:30 a.m. last Saturday at Lower James Street, Bridgetown.
