Five dead following flooding in St Lucia

A police officer was among five reportedly killed as heavy rains caused widespread damage throughout St Lucia, CMC reported today.

There are also reports of two bodies discovered in Bexon, the body of a young man was found in Grace and another body was recovered in Micoud.

Media reports indicate that policeman Calvin Louis was killed after a wall fell on him as he was trying to help people caught in the floods in the town of Vieux Fort, south of here, CMC said.

The heavy rains and strong winds have affected several Caribbean countries, most notably Dominica and St Vincent and the Grenadines, where the search continues in Kingstown for two persons, including a two year-old child.
