Two police constables accused of being found with a stolen laptop and other items after a sting operation were today admitted to bail in the sum of $200,000 each when they made their appearance at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
The December 28, 2012 charge against Andrew Pollydore and Andre Albert is that they received one laptop, a power cord, one computer bag and one hard drive all totalling $371,000; knowing same to be feloniously stolen; property of Troy Lee Edwards.
The jointly-charged duo denied the charge when it was read to them by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.
The facts of the prosecution stated that on December 24, 2012; the defendants received information about an armed robbery regarding the articles mentioned in the charge along with other articles.
On December 28, Prosecutor Stephen Telford told the court that other police officers received further information which led the lawmen to carry out a sting operation during which Pollydore and Albert were found with the articles in their possession.
They were later arrested and charged.
