Crime Chief Seelall Persaud yesterday confirmed the arrest.

Police in a press release identified the injured man as Christopher Mann, 26, of Bon Fim, Brazil, and the administrator of Gold Mines Corporation.

The release stated that at around 03:00 hrs Mann was in a mining camp at Arakaka when he was confronted by two men who demanded gold. A scuffle ensued during which he was shot to his body by the men who escaped.

The man was rushed to the Matthews Ridge Hospital before being air-dashed to the city. He is a patient of the Georgetown Public Hospital.
