Guyana has declared today a day of mourning for the late Venezuelan President, Hugo Chavez, the Government Information Agency announced last night.
The Golden Arrowhead will be flown at half-mast at all public buildings.
President Donald Ramotar yesterday departed Guyana for Venezuela in the Guyana Defence Force’s Y-12 aircraft for the state funeral today, GINA said.
Chavez will be embalmed and put on display “for eternity” at a military museum after the state funeral and an extended period of lying in state, acting President Nicolas Maduro said yesterday.
