The murder trial of Ravindra Siew, accused of killing his mother Ramrattie Deonauth opened yesterday before Justice Navindra Singh and a jury in the High Court.
A jury was empanelled and State Prosecutor Tashana Lake waived her right to address the jury and proceeded to call a number of witnesses. Lake is expected to call more witnesses today after which she is likely to close her case.
Siew is represented by attorney Haymant Ramdani. He is accused of killing Deonauth between July 19 and 20, 2009 at Enterprise, East Coast Demerara.
