The recipients, whose disabilities can be classified as severe had their old wheelchairs replaced with new ones, giving them some level of mobility so they can better take part in community life on an equal level as others.

In presenting the wheelchairs, CEO of the hospital, Allan Johnson urged the teachers, parents and guardians of the recipients to help in the care and maintenance of the equipment.

Each recipient was fitted into the new chair by a technician attached to the hospital and those in attendance were given tips on how to assist the differently-able children to man-oeuvre in and out of the chairs.
