‘Cut Throat’ refused bail on ganja charge

After allegedly being caught with 729 grammes of narcotics on his person, Godfrey ‘Cut Throat’ Williams was yesterday remanded to prison by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.

According to Prosecutor Bharat Mangru, on December 19 at Four Miles Road, Port Kaituma in the North West District, Williams had in his possession 729 grammes of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.

At about 11:30 hrs on the day in question, police at Port Kaituma were on duty when they stopped the defendant and the substance was found, in a black plastic bag, on him, Mangru stated.

Bail was refused and Williams was remanded until February 3 where he is scheduled to make his next appearance at Matthew’s Ridge Magistrate’s Court.
