Dear Editor,
I believe that you carried a photo image some time ago of an open manhole at High Street just before the traffic lights on the right side of the road. I had the experience of coming face to face with this danger lurking in the dark a few nights ago. I am appealing to whichever authority is responsible to please do something quickly lest some motorist or pedestrian encounter an accident which could have dire consequences. And there is a similar open hole just about 15 yards ahead on the same side of the road.
On a more pleasant note I am certain all East Bank road users welcome the installation of traffic lights at the Harbour Bridge entrance.
