Clive Lloyd is the man for the presidency of the WICB

Dear Editor,
It is indeed refreshing news to hear that our great cricketing legend Clive Lloyd had made himself available as a candidate to contest the presidency of the West Indies Cricket Board at its upcoming presidential election. As a sports enthusiast and good administrator I know Mr Lloyd will sweep that election by a landslide.

The qualities Mr Lloyd possesses are enough to see him take over the reins of leadership of the WICB.  He is someone who came through the ranks as an able administrator. He knows how to handle and settle disputes; he is a team player, a man of principle, not the type who would say yes to any and everything.  From his early days as a cricketer (as a youth man) I used to admire the way he led his team, how he handled situations, and how he consulted with his players when things were not going their way. At all times he used to be a cool and calm individual and a real team leader.  The traits he possesses are enough to warrant his candidacy and I know without  a doubt he will be successful in becoming the president at the end of the election.

I would personally like to endorse Mr Lloyd as the leading candidate for the presidency of the WICB and I know all Guyana and a large cross-section of West Indian cricket fans will throw their support behind Mr Lloyd. With his vast experience and knowledge of West Indies cricket and its administration I know he is the most suitable candidate for the job, and with him at the helm cricket fans can rest assured we will see a vast turnaround in West Indies cricket.  For too long West Indies cricket has been on the decline all because of administrative problems, and I know Mr Lloyd has the knowledge and the expertise in waiting to rekindle those glory days.
Yours faithfully,
Fitzroy Invarary Hughes
